In Order to Promote the Health and Safety

of Our Congregation and the Surrounding Community,

The United Presbyterian Church of Cedar Grove

Has Suspended "In-Person" Worship Until Further Notice.

The Church Building Is Closed to

All Committee Meetings and Outside Groups.

Our highest priority is the health and safety of our congregation and community.

Please note the following steps we are taking:

  • The church building is closed to all committee meetings and outside groups. Essential staff is occasionally in the building but are encouraged to work from home.

  • If you have an immediate pastoral care need during this crisis, please contact the church office at (973) 239-8520.

  • Of course, one of the implications of suspending public worship is that our regular offering isn’t being collected. As it is essential to pay our staff and meet our current obligations, we ask, if you are able, please mail your offering to the church or visit our Giving page to submit your offering online. Knowing that incomes are being impacted, we invite those with extra resources to prayerfully consider making a special gift at this time.

  • As always, we want to be a pastoral presence in your life. Please contact us with any concerns or questions you may have. We pray for the day when we can talk about this in the past tense, but until then we remain the body of Christ together.

  • We encourage you to keep those most affected by this situation around the world in your prayers. If you would like to submit a prayer request online, please click here. Prayers will be offered during the 10:00am worship service.

COVID-19

Here is where you can find coronavirus-related information and updates for the United Church, and other resources.

Dear Friends in Christ,

We hope this finds each of you healthy and safely sheltered at home.

As our community life is transformed in many ways, we are so grateful that we are able to worship each week via Zoom networking.

Being able to connect with so many of our families and friends on Easter Sunday, even with those who are scattered all over the country, was a blessing, indeed!

As you know, Session has suspend “in-person worship” until further notice. We will hold worship each Sunday at our usual gathering time of 10:00am. Invitations with the details for attending both the worship services and the weekly check-ins are sent out each week. Our zoom gatherings allow folks to participate via desktop computer, laptop, smartphone with audio and video. If you do not have or use any of these devices, a dial-in number is available for you to participate by phone, only. I invite you to follow United Presbyterian Church of Cedar Grove page and tune in each week.

We are also offering other online gatherings from time to time for socializing and study. Please stay in touch with us to be informed of these gatherings as they occur.

As always, we place our trust in Jesus and are grateful that we have been called together into this community of faith.

Peace to you.

Pastor Todd
