We're a small church – a "come as you are" church.
There are traditional parts of our church life that will feel very familiar to Presbyterians, and to others who have experienced worship in a "mainline" Christian church setting. However, our theological point of view is progressive and seeks to be as inclusive as the love of God. As the name of our church suggests, we acknowledge all people as beloved children of God, and we feel UNITED to one another because of that. We also feel united with you.
We acknowledge the difficulty in trying to read and understand biblical texts that were spoken and written thousands of years ago into a context and a time so vastly different from our own as to seem all but unrecognizable. Yet we believe that the stories expressed in the Bible point to eternal truths, and so we search them in order to find some relevant and inspiring points of connection about the human condition and the world around us that help us live our lives more fully. Furthermore, we believe that God is still speaking to us – through the experiences of our lives; through advancements in science and technology; through world events; in our consciences and in our dreams; through our families and friends; through strangers; and through our enemies we are called to pray for.
We lift up the inspiring story found in the Christian gospels and letters, drawing strength from the message about a God that chose to be born in our midst: among the powerless; outside of safety, stability, and respectability; showing us that only love, ultimately, saves us from the patterns of violence and brokenness; showing us that love is stonger even than death. Knowing this, we seek to share light in the dark places, following the One who came to us all as the Light of the World, "not to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him" (John 3:17).
Our weekly worship service is held on Sunday mornings at 10am, with coffe fellowship immdiately following. We hope that you'll stop by soon!
